UNAS1717 · From Hiroshima to K-Pop: Filmmakers' Perspectives
hello
why wont this work
Class is mind-numbingly boring and a lot of busy work. No tests, though, and the papers are pretty easy and easily graded. Easy theology core class.
Class sucks, information is totally irrelevant. That being said, you have to take it, and Sterpe is great. Really nice guy, always available and happy to help, and is a really generous grader.
THEO1726 · Exploring the Mystery of God: A Theological Perspective
great professor who doesn't give a lot of work. only actual assessment we had all semester was the midterm, where he gave us all the questions beforehand. super interesting if you stay engaged. very discussion based, so don't take this class if that isn't your thing
offers informative feedback, and never outright says what you are saying is wrong. easy class and max 20 min of reading every class. only had one essay and gives opportunity for draft feedback.
Professor Vos is super nice and cares a lot about the information. There are a few vocab quizzes and a paper, so the grades are pretty well distributed. Definitely one of the best options for the theology core!
One of the best professors I've had during my time at BC. Genuinely cares about his students and is extremely knowledgable in his lived experiences. Will challenge you to think critically and engage with the subject matter in a meaningful way, but very rewarding at the end of it all.
I took Engaging Catholicism with Professor Moons, and I recommend his class to everyone looking for a Theology credit or learning more about catholicism. He's great lecturer and the content is important as well.
Just an absolutely awesome human being who has a genuine care for what he teaches. Maybe a rough workload if you work to actually understand what you're reading you'll do fine and learn a lot. The BEST Portico teacher regardless of how that reflects in your grade. Very personable as well
Really well prepared and helpful in her explanations of the topics. Wish she gave more practice problems for the skills tests. Going to office hours can really help if in a large lecture.
Great professor and really kind person who clearly cares about the course. If you put in the effort you will do really well in this class.
She's such a good professor, so kind and helped me understand statistics. The cheat sheets on the exam were great, and she is not a bad grader at all. The projects can sometimes get confusing with the directions but once you understand it there great grade boosters. Highly recommend professor Wei!
Not a big fan of this class. Crazy topics and a lot of his personal opinion. I didnt like the lab section either.
Simple class and nice guy. Three tests that are not cumulative. Case studies and HW. Easy to work with and tells you what he expects. Tests aren't easy persay but I would highly recommend for OPS
Could not recommend enough. Great guy and great class. No notes.
Great guy and pretty straightforward class. Takes, attendance, and participation are a large part of the grade. If that doesn't bother you, there are some interesting readings, but some are pretty long. Three essays and a fair grader. No final and keeps class interesting, lots of discussions.
The class is relatively intuitive, and with reasonable studying you can get a good grade. Prof. Wei is a solid teacher but you definitely need to teach yourself some of the content. Overall a very chill grader, fun professor, and a good class.
If you did Econ in high school, lectures are extremely optional. Didn't attend anything and scored well on midterms and finals. Can't comment on her teaching ability.
Fantastic Professor, extremely engaging, great discussion facilitator. Very tough grader, A's are rare to come by, you will most likely end with a B+.
POLI1021 · How to Rule the World: Introduction to Political Theory
Absolute banger of a prof. Every single book is dissected in detail, but he explains it in a language we all can understand. Reading can be a bit tough - but it is VERY worth it. If you have the chance, take this class, it will expand your knowledge on politics A LOT. my GOAT.
just take the class.
PHIL1091 · Perspectives on Western Culture II/Perspectives II
goat
if you take perspectives before his fundamental class and are a half decent writer its a free A, can be boring at times though
egotistical, bad at teaching, charming in some ways but very harsh grader. avoid unless you have a particularly easy schedule otherwise
Exams make up nearly your entire grade. Nice guy and doesn't take attendance but he literally just reads off the slideshow
Prof. Devine is my favorite BC professor. He's the epitome of "Ever to Excel". Attend the lectures, go to your discussion sections, do your problem sets, and you'll get at least an A-. Knowing Calc is a big plus but not necessary for doing well in the class.
Great professor. The class isn’t difficult, and there’s a lot of relaxed, open discussion. We get plenty of time to complete assignments. He empathizes with the students' perspectives and understands his students very well.
This professor is amazing for any student, especially those who want to learn how to create meaningful conversations. If you take this course, I would recommend you to participate in class because your thoughts matter.
The worst class ive ever taken at BC, stay far away.
