In this course we will considerperspectives on these questions and more from around the ancient Mediterraneanpreserved in Mesopotamian and Egyptian advice texts, biblical books likeEcclesiastes and Job, Greek epic poetry, and Roman proverbs. We will alsoconsider where we might find modern parallels to this ancient wisdom literatureand how we might effectively communicate our own wisdom.
