In Platonic dialogues, we will undertake a close reading of Plato's moral thought and relationship to rhetoric and the sophists in the Gorgias, Protagoras, and Phaedrus. Students will be expected to do in class researched presentations and a final independent research paper that includes research into both primary text and secondary sources. Satisfies the following distribution requirement(s) for Philosophy: History of Philosophy.
