This course focuses on law, policy, and politics in contemporary higher education issues and trends. Students will be introduced to the U.S. legal and political system, as they examine substantive policy issues from multiple perspectives. Students will explore the U.S. legal system through issues such as discrimination based on race and ethnicity and disability, as well as free speech rights. We will discuss public and private institutions of higher education and encourage students to offer comparative perspectives from other higher education contexts globally.
