Summer course: Section .01 for Elementary Education majors; Section .02 for Secondary Ed majors In EDUC 6346 participants will learn instructional methods for bilingual, English as a Second Language (ESL), and mainstream Early Childhood and Elementary classrooms. This includes literacy and content area instructional approaches applicable to K-5 classrooms. Other topics include history and legislation related to English Learnersand bilingual education as well as the influence of language and culture on students, instruction, curriculum, and assessment. This course combines theory, research, and practice to enable participants to develop the knowledge to work with students who function in more than one language and across cultures.
