i took us history ii with fr. murphy and i thought it was pretty sufficient (im not a history major). the papers were kinda long but still doable. i wouldn't really recommend if you doze off in class / get distracted easily since there's no notes or slides at all. he's a very kind guy though!
very nice grader and GREAT man- computers allowed, doesn't care too much abt participation, no in class assignments at all- if you need an extra class he is the GOAT- one of the easiest As at BC(no diss, still great teacher) and pretty interesting as well
Father Murphy is very knowledgable as well as being kind and understanding. His class mainly run in a lecture format that covers a long time period so there is a lot to cover. Papers are straightforward and exams are all take home.
so great! loved him! i never talked in class, but he really works with you based on your essays and isn't a hard grader for the us pres class. it was super interesting too. learned a lot!
Super nice professor, you can tell he wants you to do well. Sometimes class was boring and there seemed like there was a lot of reading, but any assignments were so easy, and reading material is covered in class. Midterms and final were all take-home, and essay prompts were very straightforward.
