CHEM1109 · General Chemistry I

Would take again

Great guy, but definitely a weeder class. I did really well in his class, but you have to work really hard outside of the classroom. Do all of the practice sets and problems from the textbook and you’ll do fine. Granted that takes a huge amount of time, but at least he’s fair about grading.

I thought I knew what I was doing. Needless to say, I dropped the class in October. Jokes aside though, it is really tough but not impossible, just make sure to review the material very often. Also, all the Gen Chem professors are harsh in their own way, so you just have to choose your battle.

I did not find the lectures to coincidence with the exams/quizzes. I found the slideshows to be very confusing as she never posts them with her notes attached.

The tests are not reflective of the homework, quizzes or lectures and are often much harder than you would expect. The last test had an average of 61%. Other gen chem teachers have consistently higher test averages.
